Asphalt Studio is the work of L.A. based artist and travel glutton Yasmine Diaz

About me As an artist, my subject for years has been the urban environment and my medium primarily oil painting. I accumulated a mass of street photography which I initially used as reference material, then I started to experiment with the photos themselves in various ways. That's when Asphalt Studio began. 

Incorporating my photography into pattern design has allowed me to combine several passions: making art out of the street and leggings. As I primarily commute around L.A. by bike and practice yoga often, I wear leggings all the time. FYI to my fellow cyclists, these leggings have a mid-rise waist so you don't have to worry about unwanted exposure on the backside - a huge plus in my book!

I am also a volunteer mentor at Las Fotos Project, an East L.A. based non-profit providing photography training to teenage girls.
